Installation#
Capystreama runs on Linux and Windows (amd64 and arm64).
Prebuilt releases#
The simplest option, and the one most people want. Each release ships an archive for every platform:
Platform |
Archive |
|---|---|
Linux x86-64 |
|
Linux arm64 |
|
Windows x86-64 |
|
Windows arm64 |
|
Download the archive for your platform from the
GitLab releases, extract it,
and run the capystreama binary. Everything described in these docs — the item
list, the overlay, the website tools — is in that one binary; there is nothing
else to install.
On Windows the app can update itself from then on. On Linux, download a newer archive when you want to move up. See Updates, which also covers verifying a download by hand: every release publishes signed checksums and a signature for each binary.
Building it yourself#
You don’t need to build the app to use it. If you want to anyway — or you’re
writing a plugin to link in — the repository’s BUILDING.md has the full
reference, and its Nix flake wires up the C toolchain the build needs:
nix develop # the toolchain, ready to `go build`
